Sledgehammer Games announced a brand new game mode for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare today. The playlist is called “One Shot” and, as the name implies, involves nothing but sniper rifles. Fans of sniping will enjoy this new, unique mode.

One Shot is a team-based game that has altered game settings including decreased player health (to ensure that each kill is obtained with a single shot). You aren’t allowed to use your own personal classes in this mode, though. Instead there are 5 set loadouts that you can select from. Each one uses the MORS sniper with varying attachments, perks, scorestreaks, EXO abilities, and so on.

Secondary weapons are completely out so you’ve got to learn to place your sniper shots well. More than likely this mode will appeal to quickscoping and trickshotting gamers. Maybe this new playlist will keep these kinds of players out of  game modes like Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All? It’s a possibility but, sadly, not a guarantee.

Regardless it is nice to see Sledgehammer taking the sniping community within Call of Duty into consideration when developing new game modes. That is something that has never been done in previous CoD titles.

Also, the developers have activated double XP in Advanced Warfare only in the One Shot game mode which ends Monday, December 29th, at 9am.
