The Sten is one of the SMGs seen in Black Ops 3. This one, however, is exclusive to the zombies game mode. Not a lot of information is available for it just yet, but we do know that it makes an appearance in the Shadows of Evil zombies map.
This weapon has been featured in several Call of Duty titles before including Black Ops 1, World at War, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty 2. In earlier titles it was available for player use in campaign and multiplayer modes. This SMG is held by its magazine rather than a traditional stock like other weapons.
The real-world gun this weapon is a clone of is a British-made 9mm submachine gun. It was used heavily by British forces in both WWII and the Korean War. The weapon was in service from the early 1940s until the mid 1960s. It is estimated that more than 4 million of these guns were produced during that time.
Full details about the weapon’s history can be found on the Wikipedia entry for the Sten. This page includes information about the SMG’s design, variants, military use, and more.
NOTE: We will be adding more information about the Black Ops 3 Sten once it is available. This will include details about the damage output, magazine size, rate of fire, and more.
