Black Ops 3 Nomad Specialist Guide

Nomad is one of the most controversial specialists available in Black Ops 3 right now. Players didn’t seem to mind his death-by-firefly special weapon, but did think that his unique ability to revive himself when dead could use a nerf. Hence the reason the ability was nerfed a bit (see details below). While this character certainly has a handy ability associated with it, a lot of players don’t use this class.

Black Ops 3 Nomad Specialist

Nomad is actually a character named Tavo Rojas, an elite soldier that excelled in jungle-based warfare. He is associated with several factions including the 54 Immortals and the Nile River Coalition. He specializes in survival skills.

Official Bio

Last surviving member of an elite Rapid Deployment Force unit specialized in Jungle Warfare, Rojas has gone off-grid using his survivalist training to stay alive. At home in the wild, he uses his skills to turn the environment against his foes.

Special Weapon

If players opt to use Nomad’s weapon they’ll get to play with the H.I.V.E, an interesting launcher that fires out small pods filled with tiny drones. The pods are deployed similarly to a mine. Whenever an enemy player roams too close to them, they burst open and release the drones. The drones then completely cover nearby opponents, killing them quite quickly.

Black Ops 3 HIVE Special Weapon

Players get a total of 5 pods to fire from this weapon. Used strategically, this weapon is great for protecting objectives or racking up kills in high-traffic areas.

Special Ability

Nomad also has a rather strong ability that players can choose to use. The ability is called Rejack. Whenever a player dies and has his/her special ability ready they can activate this to come back to life.

Some players considered this ability overpowered because it could be obtained multiple times throughout a match and even help the player obtain high-kill weapon medal rewards. This is because once Rejack is activated the previous death is nulled.

The Rejack ability has now received a bit of a nerf. Before you could keep racking up score that goes toward killstreaks, but that has now been taken out. Now, once you die, even if you pull off the Rejack, your scorestreak score gets reset.

Plus, this ability can be used to die within an objective or enemy spawn and then respawn behind the enemy, ready to kill. It’s a very useful ability when used correctly.
