The Locus is one of the sniper rifles available for players to use in Call of Duty Black Ops 3. It is a powerful, bolt-action style sniper that is capable of executing one-shot kills from the ribs up. Many popular players have already named the Locus the go-to choice for both traditional and quickscoping sniping.
Generally speaking, bolt-action snipers tend to be the most popular in Call of Duty games. They usually deal higher damage which reduces the number of hit-markers and accuracy is usually good, too. The Locus isn’t exactly pretty to look at, but it does an excellent job of popping off enemies at range.
This sniper is a beast and is considered the best in the game right now. Below you’ll find a complete overview of the stats for this weapon.
Damage Output: High
Magazine Size: 8 rounds
Fire Rate: Low (Bolt-action)

Recommended Weapon Setup
How you set up this sniper will depend heavily on how you intend to use it. For traditional sniping (often referred to as “hardscoping”) you’ll want a more stealth-like class to stay off enemy radar and keep to yourself. For quickscoping, however, you may want a more fast-paced design. Below are recommendations for both.
If you’d like to quickscope attachments like the Ballistics CPU and Extended Mags will prove useful. Ballistics CPU reduces the amount of sway your weapon has while aimed which inadvertently improves your accuracy while quickscoping. Extended Mags, on the other hand, gives you more rounds to use per magazine.
Perk-wise, you’ll probably want to use options like Fast Hands (allows you to ADS quicker after a full sprint) and Tactical Mask (reduces the effects of things like stun grenades to keep you moving). Scavenger is a decent choice, too, if you find yourself running out of ammo often.
For traditional sniping you’ll want to rock a more stealth-like class. This means using attachments geared toward hardscoping such as an upgraded sight, FMJ (to get those awesome wall-bangs better), and Fast Mag for faster reloads.
The ideal perks to use for hardscoping sniper classes are Flak Jacket (to escape a nasty C4 or grenade death while camping), Cold Blooded (to reduce your chances of being spotted), and Dead Silence (so you can move around a bit without alerting nearby enemies).
The Locus is truly one of the most impressive snipers available in Black Ops 3. Check out the video provided below to see this sniper in action in a real multiplayer game.
