Treyarch, for a while now, has given us the option to show off our personality a bit through the use of their intuitive emblem editor. But players have always wanted the ability to have that capability mirrored for weapon skins. Well, with Black Ops 3 Treyarch has finally given the gamers what they want.

Black Ops 3 has a feature that allows players to create their own custom weapon camo. There are 3 different sections of the weapon that are customizable with this system – the top, left side, and right side. The remainder of the weapon is covered in a standard camo chosen by the player.

Here’s a video from Call of Duty Youtuber, Tmartn, that explains how this new camo editor works:

Each section can be made to look different. And each one is capable of being covered in up to 64 layers, meaning gamers will get a total of 192 layers to play with. This leaves a ton of room for creativity. We saw some incredible designs just with the 32 layer emblem editing system seen in Black Ops 2, we can’t wait to see what players can come up with using the new 64 layer editor for weapon camos in BO3.
