Overview of Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Game Modes

Black Ops 3 might be a ways off still (about 6 months at this point) but there are still some pretty juicy details being released about it already. One of the things that’s getting asked a lot about is what game modes we will see in BO3. As you would expect, some traditional gametypes are back, and a few new ones are coming, too.

Black Ops 3 Game Modes

Here are the game modes that have been confirmed as being in Black Ops 3 as of right now:

  • Team Deathmatch (TDM)
  • Kill Confirmed (KC)
  • Domination (DOM)
  • Hardpoint (HP)
  • Capture the Flag (CTF)

These have been confirmed by YouTubers that were given access to a pre-pre-alpha build of the game.

It was mentioned by Drift0r that the spawns in TDM are quite a bit better than the spawning system that Black Ops 2 or Advanced Warfare had.

Tmartn stated that Domination has been changed. Rather than the game mode being all one round it is now split into two rounds. Each round has a maximum score of 200 points. This split-round system makes it a bit easier for people that join late or get stomped in the first round. The second round resets and allows players to start over, recapturing objective points and going to the 200 score limit once again.

Drift0r claims that Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and CTF essentially play the same as they did in BO2. He did say, however, that Capture the Flag is a bit more fast-paced and challenging thanks to the new movement abilities.

That’s all we have for details regarding Black Ops 3 game modes for right now. We will update this page as new information is released or when details are changed. It’s important to note that because the game is in such an early stage that all of this info is subject to change before launch.

Tips, tricks, and strategies for each multiplayer game mode can be found in our exhaustive Black Ops 3 game guide – we teach players how to obliterate their opponents, rack up points, obtain a high K/D ratio, and much more in this book. Check it out.
