Gamers that were disappointed that all promotional material for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the latest CoD title coming from Treyarch, seemed to allude to the fact that the game would only be available on next-gen consoles and PC will be pleased to know that BO3 has officially been confirmed for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms.
Activision and Sledgehammer Games took to blogs today to announce that Black Ops 3 will be making its way to last-gen gaming platforms. The version heading to X360 and PS3 is being made by different developers, though. SHG will focus on the Xbone, PS4, and PC, while developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology will be porting the game for previous consoles.
Because of the hardware limitations SHG does claim that there will be a few differences between the next-gen and older platform versions of the game. One example given was that the co-op mode will be limited to 2 players on PS3 and Xbox 360 while gamers playing BO3 on Xbox One or PS4 will have access to 4 player co-op game modes.
Other differences have been noted as existing but specifics have yet to be given. According to Activision, further details about the platform differences will be announced later in the year. The last-gen version of Black Ops 3 will be available on November 6th.
