Activision has recently announced that a brand new assault rifle will be making its way into CoD: Advanced Warfare once the first DLC pack for the game releases sometime in the beginning of 2015. The AE4 is a directed energy AR that, according to leaked details, will have high mobility and handling stats.
The weapon will also have one known variant, the AE4 Widowmaker. Unfortunately, little else is known about this weapon at this time simply because it hasn’t been released yet. Once it’s actually available we will update this page with more detailed stats including damage output, clip size, variant stat information, and more.
If you’re looking to get your hands on the brand-new AE4 assault rifle early, you’re in luck. With the purchase of the Advanced Warfare Season Pass on the Xbox 360 or Xbox One you’ll get instant access to it. This applies to both current pass owners and those that purchase it soon. The AE4 will be made available to Xbox Season Pass holders starting December 11th.
If you’re a PS3 or PS4 player it sounds like you’ll have to wait until the first DLC is made available on the Playstation platforms which, typically, is 30 days after its released on Xbox consoles.
UPDATE: Stats for this gun have now been processed. Find them below.
Damage Output: 30-34
Clip Size: Unlimited (will overheat when fired for long periods of time)
- Red Dot Sight
- Hybrid Sight
- Auto Focus Sight
- Target Enhancer
- Thermal Scope
- ACOG Scope
- Parabolic Microphone
- Heat Sink
Personally, we love the iron sights on this weapon, they’re easy to work with and great for visibility so we don’t think using an optical attachment is necessary with AE4. We do, however, like using the Heat Sink and Foregrip. This allows for longer firing sessions and more controlled barrages of bullets.
Available AE4 Variants:
- Widowmaker (+1 accuracy, -1 overheat time, has blue laser)
- Void (+2 range, -2 overheat time)
- Shocker (+3 overheat time, -1 accuracy, -2 damage)
- Gigawatt (+1 damage, +2 mobility, -2 handling, -1 range)
- Tranquilizer (+2 damage, -3 overheat time)
- Venom (+2 mobility, -2 range)
The Widowmaker variant is given to players upon purchase of the season pass. The majority of the other variants are obtained through loot found in Supply Drops. The only exception is the Venom which is acquired by getting 300 kills using the weapon.
