CoD AW EPM3 Heavy Weapon Overview

The EPM3 is yet another directed-energy gun found in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It’s found in the heavy weapons category alongside it’s fully-auto sidekick, the EM1. The EPM3 is a semi-automatic rifle that fires bolts of energy at enemies. It features moderate damage, decent accuracy, and infinite ammo.

While the EPM3 doesn’t have an ammo limit it is capable of overheating. If you fire shots off too quickly one after another the weapon will seize up and need to be opened to cool down. This usually takes a couple of seconds to do, leaving you open to enemy fire, and then you’re able to start shooting again.

The EPM3 is actually a pretty decent weapon. It typically takes just 3-4 shots to kill an opponent with it. You can fire the weapon as fast as your finger allows but the accuracy does decline steeply when fired too fast. Its better to aim your shots well and pop them off at moderate speed to ensure you hit your target.

EPM3 Weapon Stats

As we always say, knowledge is power. And knowing the stats of your weapon before taking it into combat is always a good thing. Below are the details for the EPM3.

Damage Output: 25-35

Clip Size: Infinite (requires cooldown if overheated)

Available Attachments:

  • Red Dot Sight
  • Hybrid Sight
  • Auto Focus Sight
  • Target Enhancer
  • ACOG Scope
  • Stock
  • Tracker
  • Foregrip
  • Parabolic Microphone
  • Quickdraw Grip
  • Heat Sink

Personally, we love using the Auto Focus Sight and either the Quickdraw Grip or the Heat Sink attachments with the EPM3. This gives you better visuals on your opponents that the standard sight and gives you the ability to raise your weapon faster (with quickdraw equipped) or fire off bullets a little quicker without worrying too much about overheating (with heat sink equipped).

Available EPM3 Variants:

  • Parsec (+3 range, can only use sight attachments)
  • Bona Fide (+3 accuracy, -2 damage, -1 fire rate)
  • Panorama (built-in heat sink attachment, +1 range, -1 accuracy)
  • Legit (+1 to both accuracy and range, -2 damage)
  • Longitude (built-in ACOG scope, +1 range, -1 range)
  • Anodized (+1 accuracy, -1 fire rate)
  • Interval (+1 range, -1 damage)
  • Magnified (+1 range, -1 handling)
  • M-Coil (+1 accuracy, -1 damage)
  • Exterminator (+2 damage, -2 fire rate)

The majority of variants are acquired through loot found in Supply Drops. The Exterminator variant, however, is obtained by earning 300 kills with the EPM3 (completing the Marksman challenge).

Just about every one of the variants are obtained via Supply Drops. There is one variant that is acquired by completing a simple weapon challenge with the EPM3, though.
